1) Brass Knuckles have no listing – What are their cost? Can you get other materials like steel, cold iron, wood, etc.?
2) Pugilist: The table says +1 DM, but the writeup says +1d when attacking. Which is correct?
3) Iron Fist: The table says +2 DM, but the writeup says +1 DM. Which is correct?
4) Do all the +X DM for Unarmed stack? (Base Weapon, Brass Knuckles, Thug Background, Flor di Bataglia Basic Style, and Iron Fist) I would imagine so since each is from a different source, but wanted to verify.
5) Can Sweep (talent) be performed with Unarmed?
6) Can Riposte (talent) be performed with Unarmed?
7) Can Deft Disarm (talent) be performed with Unarmed? The table says requirement is Unarmed, but the writeup says requirement is Melee. Which is correct?
8) Does “Attack Specialist” +2 DM stack with other +DM from Talents (Wondering if this works like Weapon Mastery in Arcanis)Thanks!
December 30, 2013 at 3:40 pm #254285AnonymousInactive1) I’ll leave cost to Eric. I would think you’d be able to get them in other forms from rare suppliers.
4) Flor di Bataglia Basic Style, and Iron Fist are both Talents, I would think they would not stack.
5) I’d think so
6) I don’t think that’s the intent as shown by the melee skill requirement instead of (or also) the Unarmed requirement. But there doesn’t seem to be a direct no to this.
7) I’d think so.
8) Talents do no stack.
Everything else needs more than I can give

That’s the general rule. I was just curious if “Fighting Style” should be it’s own Source. Given the expense of getting into a Fighting Tradition, it would seem that represents an even greater focus on a particular type of fighting. I haven’t looked at all the Fighting Traditions, but if the cost of 2 talents doesn’t stack with a single talent, it might make the fighting traditions even less attractive since you pretty much have to take almost all the fighting style talents to work your way up.
The same argument would be made for “Attack Specialization”. The main reason I ask is because in Arcanis they ruled that Weapon Mastery (which has bonuses to hit and damage) stacked with all other Talents due to its general purpose nature and to keep it as a true ‘mastery’ talent.
Might have to wait for Eric to make more of a call on those.
Thanks for the other answers!

4. Stacking applies as normal.
8. No. Weapon Mastery t1 was made exception because it is hard not to have weapon mastery and it didn’t even stack with Wolf Pack Tactics.December 30, 2013 at 8:48 pm #254299AnonymousInactive1) Brass Knuckles have no listing – What are their cost? I do hope that a general ruling that “Fighting Style” is a type of bonus separate from Talents; otherwise, they will not stack with a lot of individual talents, making them even harder to justify cost-wise.

I’ll have to look at the fighting styles to see how I feel about that one. I doubt that they will get their own source.December 30, 2013 at 11:04 pm #254307AnonymousInactiveI’ll have to look at the fighting styles to see how I feel about that one. I doubt that they will get their own source.
Take a look at my other post in this forum. I think I found all the ‘conflicts’

Thanks! I assumed as much but because they were very different (not just a typo) I wanted to make sure one wasn’t a holdover from 1st Edition when it was supposed to have changed.
