Origins Event Registration

Origiins used to be more organized as far as getting event prereg out further before con but once it does go live, it usually goes smoothly (unlike GenCon which often has major issues with event prereg (mostly with their horrible software… which, sad to say, is better than it used to be)).

We’ll have to agree to disagree on that one, given that Origins has lost my pre-registration materials 8 out of the last 14 years, and GenCon lost it twice in as many.

Wow. You have horrible luck. I have never had Orgiins lose any prereg materials in the 18 years I’ve been pre-registering (I went in ’95 as well but didn’t prereg). I’ve also never had issues with getting into (most) events at Origins.

2 out of the last 3 times I went to GenCon, I got screwed by the event reg software and had most of the events I wanted sold out by the time I finally got in. This year, from what I heard, even the housing registration system was a disaster (probably not going this year – if I do, it will likely be outside the normal housing system).
