I’m sitting here at a small local event. Game day not a con. My local players isn’t going to show for various reasons. So I’m doing my best to sell the campaign to people. But the response is always, “That’s cool, but I have a [_____] game to catch.”
How do you get people to freaking sit down and try something new? It seems everyone already has an agenda.
It’s tough, especially if there wasn’t preregistration and a lot of competing games, I see it at MarCon each year too. Usually the only thing is try to really hit that one unique nugget the person is interested in. however, if they have tickets to another event, it’s likely they won’t miss it for your game. I found making business cards with my contact and the forums, website is a great idea.
