So now that Rites and Relics is out in the wild, I’m (slowly) working my way through to figure out what parts I’m going to include in my game.
Devil’s Arithmetic. Is there actually a game effect to this? Being able to design patterns and such? Other than creep people out and give them a -2d penalty to interaction and professional rolls around you? Because this feels more like a flaw or Villainous Talent as it is. I love the concept behind Devil’s Numbers, but as an extension Devil’s Arithmetic just seems…huh? It’s almost as though there is a piece missing, like a couple of hermetic rites that could piggie back off of it to great effect. Obviously that’s not the case, because its almost word for word out of Blessed and Damned.
Am I missing something? What can I, a player, do with this talent that makes it worth investing the points in? It oozes RP flavor, which is cool, but other than that…?
