Hello everyone,
Here are some of the Arcanis events planned for Origins 2016. More coming as they are cemented in place.
LA – A2- HP 11 – Night of a Thousand Screams
The Heroes are tasked with escorting a trade delegation to the southern eloran city of Seremas. What they find when they arrive is chilling in its implications. Could the hand of the Destroyer have reached this far?LA – A2- HP 12 – The Chosen
A Nierite is found near Fort Macha, half dead from exposure. He claims to have found a new Pillar of Nier in the north. Is this the ravings of a mad man or has a miracle occurred? Quintus val’Virdan wants you to find out.Origins 2016 Battle Interactive: Black Hearts, Red Blades
The pieces have been moved into place and the final gambit for control has begun. The Coming of the Destroyer story arc comes to a close and a new one begins as an upheaval changes the face of the First City forever! Will the face of the prophesied Destroyer finally be revealed?February 4, 2016 at 11:10 pm #271387drafitParticipantThe Friday Night Arcanis event:
LA-A3-A0 Echoes from the Depths
Prophecy. Those elusive strands of fate that bind, that twist, that corrupt. As proclamations spread across the lands, there are those who seek out any suggestion of prophecy; but seeking prophecy for a purpose is as difficult as chasing grains of sand in the wind. Perhaps that is what led them to Liveh, the glittering ancestral seat of power in Bhiharn. This is a 2 round special Legends of Arcanis event, occurring Friday night at Origins 2016. It has multiple parts to the event; some are LARP-style, others are closer to a Battle Interactive. Players may use a different character for each part of this event, should that be desired.

Wouldn’t a 2 round event start in the afternoon? Just sayin’
February 28, 2016 at 8:03 pm #271706AnonymousInactiveIt does start Friday Afternoon; as with normal two-round specials, the tickets will indicate 10 hours running time. Actual play time is planned for 8 hours (with suitable breaks in the event, both story-appropriate and food-schedule appropriate).

April 18, 2016 at 8:19 pm #272345AnonymousInactiveA question about the special event on Friday at Origins:
Does it make sense to organize a table for the non-LARP sections of the event before hand? Much like some do for BIs?
April 18, 2016 at 8:26 pm #272346AnonymousInactiveYou may if you’d like, but are not obligated to. If you are wondering from a narrative point of view, as far as your characters are concerned you are all going to be enjoying a few sunny days on the coast around a religious festival. Why would you expect anything to go wrong? You are probably just being paranoid. . .
Just watch, PCI is going to write an event where literally nothing goes wrong, and then sit back and watch everyone act paranoid and make up conspiracies when none exist
April 18, 2016 at 8:37 pm #272347AnonymousInactiveThat would be awesome!

April 19, 2016 at 9:51 pm #272359AnonymousInactiveAre the Witch Hunter events all new modules, or are there some repeats? Just trying to plan.

Unfortunately no. It is split into distinct halves only for judge signup purposes. There is a defined schedule for the event; allowing for breaks etc; but it is properly a full two-round event.
April 20, 2016 at 1:38 am #272361AnonymousInactiveThat’s too bad my roommate Beth is in the same boat. The Fellowship of the White Star interactive is the same afternoon as the LA special, hence Peter’s schedule conflict.
April 20, 2016 at 5:30 pm #272364AnonymousInactiveAre the Friday and Saturday specials really supposed to be $28 a piece? That’s substantially above normal event prices. Normally the only things that high are sealed deck CCG events or similar. Normal event pricing is $2 per 2 hours (rounded up) so I’d expect them to be $10 each or maybe a little higher (not almost triple).
April 20, 2016 at 5:55 pm #272367AnonymousInactiveYeah I saw that too and am wondering about same. Makes me glad I agreed to judge.
Still I would have thought the fee would have been between 12 and 18 bucks not 28. That does seem a bit steep.May 5, 2016 at 9:10 pm #272615AnonymousInactiveAm I reading the Origins registration correctly that the D&D 5e tables of the BI are almost sold out, whereas the ARG tables have lots of seats still available? I wonder whether it’s because of 5e popularity or ARG players are accidentally selecting the 5e tickets.
