I think where you're getting confused is in difference between Talent "Requirements" and "Type". Talents have Types that are listed in []'s next to the name. Requirements are listed under the Talent name and preceded by the word "Requirements".

"Limited" is a "Type" and not a Requirement. Therefore bypassing Requirements does not in any way allow bypassing Limited.

The Tier and Race requirements that cannot be bypassed are explicitly spelled out in the errata. I don't know when it will be released, but there is a great need for it.

John

So to be clear a Templar of Sarish, Knight Errant even with the new, forthcoming errata, will still be able to take Learn Fighting Style (Arcimous Primus) and get Arcane Strike. Nothing we have talked about here seems to preclude it. How do we suggest a fix for that?

Why do we need to fix it? If you get Arcane Strike from the Fighting Style, that's fine. The errata prevents someone from 'poaching' the Arcane Strike [Limited] Talent without the Fighting Style.

1) Templar of Sarish - Unless there has been an errata that I can't remember, I don't think Sorcerer-Priests of Sarish (Arcane Spell Casting: Sorcerer Priest of Sarish) can take Arcimous Primus. The only that are listed are Eldritch, Elder, and Primal. If you have ASC: Eldritch, than there is no issue.

2) Knight Errant Grants you a Combat Talent, and from what you say you want to take Learn Fighting Style. This is perfectly valid! However, while it grants you that TALENT, it does NOT grant you access to ANY Fighting Style you want. The talent is merely the mechanical means of gaining entry and access to it, but it is NOT the sole requirement to get in. If you have all the other prerequisites for Arcimous Primus, then go nuts! Otherwise, you cannot get access to it that way.

1) It is actually Psionics not Primal, but that is exactly my point.

2) Meh, I could see it either way.

The fix is to add a clarification that states that outside of Archetypes, any time a Talent is granted through a choose "Any" talent, that the character must meet all of the prerequisites for it and may not take Limited talents.

Named talents are granted regardless of listed pre-reqs HOWEVER it does not meet any secondary pre-reqs. Specific choices such as those granted by Learn Martial Technique, Learn Fighting Style or Learn Spell must still have the listed pre-requisites met.

Adding these clarifications should eliminate any confusion or doubt around these types of granted talents.

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul

Suggested minor addition (that is listed elsewhere I think but useful to have it in the same place):
Talents granted by Archetype also can not be Limited talents unless granted by name.
