If a daughter was born and found to have the val'Emman bloodline where would she go to be raised? OR could she simply keep the val'Holryn name since that is what she looks like? Having the val'Emman bloodline abilities is immaterial; ultimately, she's still a val'Holryn. The val'Holryn may bring in a val'Emman to teach her about her specific abilities I suspect, but the val'Emman family would not take her in, as it were. The *really* interesting question to me is if such a daughter had val'Ishi powers... would the families be able to distinguish whether she was truly a val'Ishi or a val'Holryn with val'Ishi powers? Would it make a difference? |

All Val families have a different look. If the child looked asian, they'd be sent to the val'Ishi's presumably. |

Actually the family I refer to is my character's--my original character Guthrum val'Holryn of Tralia married Rikitsa val'Ishi of Enpebyn. They have four children (who are several of my current characters): the oldest daughter Ursula val'Holryn [val'Emman], Haakon val'Ishi (clearly identifiable as such), Bernard (haven't determined his bloodline yet--possibly a val'Dellenov--but he would look like a val'Holryn), and the youngest daughter Rikitsa (named not after her mother but a more distant ancestor)(have yet to determine her bloodline but might go val'Mordane). As for the look of Ursula she definitely looks val'Holryn. And I don't see her travelling to Novo Cormata for training, that's not how she rolls... ![]() Haakon on the other hand was trained at Enpebyn but ultimately chose to side with the Milandiric Orthodox Church and still considers himself Milandisian. |

I would think by now that the Holryns would have enough val'Emmans in their family to have. . . acquired the knowledge ![]() |

Based on his experiences Daddy Guthrum is not overly fond of Nierites, val'Virdans and by extension val'Emman. Finding out his eldest is a val'Emman probably came as a bit of a shock. ![]() ![]() |
