When a witch is casting Hex on a person, how do you interpret the following...
Quote:
The witch may impose a continuous -1d penalty to any skill check by the creature for the duration.
So does the witch have to pick a single skill, or does this mean that any (and all) skill checks made for the duration are at a -1d penalty?

Well, unless I hear otherwise, I'll assume that it means pick a skill. (It seems like it would be a bit overpowered if it indeed meant any (all) skill check(s) made for the duration.)

Yeah, given that the penalty can be increased with increased Mastery, I'd hesitate before allowing it to hit everything. As a house-rule, I might allow the witch to penalize every skill roll in exchange for lowering the duration to a single scene.

I assume "any" to mean one you choose. "All" would be more fitting if it was meant to be for every skill.

Hello,

Correct - "any" implies any one. If it was meant to be all skills, it would have been written as "all".
