@Akira - THe issue I have with the Master Smith option that you mention is that it would effectively take a character out of play. Such an apprenticeship would require a considerable amount of time to complete. If taken as a background, then what would be the real benefit? Crafting of items, etc is not supported by the campaign, so I don't see it being worth the money spent.
Henry/other campaign staff,
I meant to ask about this a while ago, and didn't get around to it. The rules under Artisan seem fairly complete. I would agree that the campaign doesn't make it easy to craft (I'd love to see something on CPs to record crafting more easily), your statement above seems to imply that we
aren't allowed to craft items.
If my Nol Dappan were, for instance, to craft himself a set of armour, with my roll observed by a GM, etc, would it not be campaign legal? I thought there had been a ruling earlier that PCs could create anything up to and including Exceptional items.
This is a bit of a concern as I was planning on having my 'special item' be a set of smith's hammers.
