This is actually something I was curious about. If I (hypothetically) wanted to convert my Nol Dappan primary to a Tultipetan, is this something that would be permissible?

I don't want to do this, for the record, I was just curious and hadn't seen the question asked. How much leniency is there in converting existing characters over to special characters? I assume it isn't an option with any of the ones that specifically state they start at 1.5.

After some thinking, it's possible I'll release it back into the wild before the Kickstarter ends. It somewhat depends on what mechanical benefits it gives. I'm not sure if Henry will tease the actual benefits prior to the end of the Kickstarter, or not.

Do you have a copy of Legacy of Damnation? I believe the writeup for the brood entry will be used as the basis for the conversion with some modifications and whatnot.

I guess my big questions are:

1) Since there are many Broods but only Uhxbractit was offered, does that mean that dark-kins will not be offered the ability to have Brood Powers/Mechanics in the future? Does it mean that Uhxbractit won't be offered but others might via normal means (books, rewards, etc)
2) Are the powers automatically given? Do you have to spend Talents to get the powers (Like Val Bloodline Powers)?
3) Can this be applied to an existing character? (I don't think so, but it wasn't explicitly stated as it was with some other pledge levels)

To Henry (who just posted)...I understand completely about the story. But as you said earlier, I'm free to right now say I'm a "Brood of whomever" it just comes with no mechanical difference from any other Dark-Kin. Therefore, the 'pledge level' would need to come with something extra on top of that. I will probably make up my mind in the next few days. I really don't see me starting a new character for primary play, but since there was nothing specifically for dark-kin outside of this pledge level I picked it up to think about.

@Akira - That's something the LA Staff would need to address, but you are correct in assuming that any special character that states that it begins at1.5 is a new character.

John - Black Vals will not be allowed in the campaign unless we make them special characters at some future KS (and no, I don't have any plans to do so). As to what they get, no, they will not be like normal Dark ki. That would imply that I am taking advantyage of people's generosity and I don't do that.

If you wnat to know exactly what thes ebenefits will be or what it will cost, I cannot answer that and won't even begin to address this until after the KS is over. If that helps make up your mind, there you go.

Thanks Henry! I didn't expect them to be normal dark-kin, I just wasn't sure to what extent a Black Val was different from a Dark-Kin with new special powers. Do they look like Dark-Kin? Do they share some common trait like Val (Black Eyes, etc.). I'll make a decision soon and either keep it or toss it back into the ring.

What's the time duration on being able to play one of the PCs from the Kickstarter? In particular, I'm curious about the Tultipetan and the val'Vasik.

I've got 3 PCs that I'm very happy with, but eventually (assuming a long, happy Arcanis campaign) they'll all retire. Can I get an add-on PC, like the val'Vasik, and just keep her in limbo until my primary retires? Even though that might be a few years down the road?

Thanks.

Absolutely!

There's no expiration date on these Add Ons, so you can use them whenever you like, in any story-arc you like.

Thank you!

Hello everyone,

A new Stretch Goal has been listed in the KickStarter along with its cover.

Enjoy!

Illustrious Incarnation, I was wondering why it's a talent? All (most) the other ones are more powerful race options, so kind of free bonus, so I was just wondering why a talent.

Devin,

Because of the nature of the reward.

Look at the other Special Characters and you'll see that making them a Talent makes little sense (at least to me).

Greetings. I'm posting in a couple of places to try and get more interest in the kickstarter and thought it'd be a great idea to post the link on where to download the free copy of the Codex Arcanis PDF. I can't find it though. Is it available somewhere?

I figured I could help convince people to invest at least $55 to get the PDF of the Cradle of Empires book + $40 for the PDFs of all the other books + the Codex Arcanis to get them sold on the setting. They obviously get all the other Kickstarter benefits as well.

Is the free PDF of the Codex Arcanis still available, especially if they want to take a quick look in advance before signing up?

Thanks!

With a sweep of his hat,

Paul
