Q: Is Artisan (Metalwork) the same as Artisan (Blacksmith) or does it replace all metal – based Artisan skills from the core book (it seems to imply this is the case)? If it does not replace them, will Artisan (Armorsmith) or Artisan (Weaponsmith ) count as Artisan (Metalwork) for purposes of inscribing runes?
A: No, being a master craftsman takes a LOT of dedication which is why most of than simply do
not adventure, as they don’t have the time to improve their combat or even social skills.ARPG 143
Artisan is a collection of sub-skills with several specializations: Alchemy, Armorsmithing, Blacksmithing, Bower/Fletcher, Brewing, Forging Documents, Gunsmith, Leatherworking, Jewelry, Painting, Tailoring, and Weaponsmithing.
So I have multiple minds about this:
My opinion:
I think the answer should be some form of yes. particularly in the light that Heroes in the campaign are not going to be allowed to take that path/ or talents. (and Tony might need to jump in here on this because we might need an updated campaign guide to go along with these rules changes)OR
Artisan Metalwork, deserves a write up in an upcoming book to differentiate it from blacksmithing / armorsmithing/ weaponsmithing/ jewely(smithing) much like what was done for Herbalism and Healing regarding Herbs in CoHMarch 5, 2014 at 9:54 pm #258155AnonymousInactiveQ: Is Artisan (Metalwork) the same as Artisan (Blacksmith) or does it replace all metal – based Artisan skills from the core book (it seems to imply this is the case)?
