Hello Folks,
Planning this one further in advance as I’d like to try to do a two nighter. I will tentatively plan for Ancient Battles Unfinished, but there is currently an issue with the CP which I’m hoping will be resolved by this date. If it isn’t, we may look at running Long March, Dark Coda.
Please only put your name down if you are available both nights. The start time is going to be firm, as the last few games I’ve run we’ve had to wait between 30-60 minutes for various players. Not pointing the finger at anyone in particular, but we will be starting these sessions on time and running no later than midnight CST, depending on how far along we get. Ideally I’d like to stop at 11pm CST.
Please remember that HP2-03 is a battle interactive event, and thus more deadly than a standard module. It is combat intensive. Do not bring your T1.1 diplomacy specialist if you want to be anything more than a meat-shield.
When: Friday April 24 and Saturday April 25, 7pm CST
Where: Roll20.net
What: HP2-03 Ancient Battles Unfinished OR SP2-04 Long March, Dark CodaGM: Akira Currier (unless someone else really wants to)
Player 1: Amanda L.
Player 2: toodeep
Player 3: Steve Wilcoxon
Player 4: Michael Cowart
Player 5: Chris Chivers
Player 6:April 10, 2015 at 6:25 pm #267259AnonymousInactiveI’m in if its Ancient Battles, but I’ve already played Long March.
Thanks for arranging this! I’ve been dying to get this one in, but it is so hard since most people in my area have already played it, and as a two rounder scheduling is a nightmare.
April 10, 2015 at 6:45 pm #267260AnonymousInactiveI’d have to talk to Amanda, but if you want LMDC I may be able to run and she play. We’ve both played the BI.
April 10, 2015 at 6:48 pm #267261AnonymousInactiveDefinitely do want to play LMDC before Origins, if not this weekend then we’ll hopefully be able to find another that works.
April 10, 2015 at 10:16 pm #267263AnonymousInactiveI’m interested but won’t know if I can make Friday until tomorrow (normally, Friday RPG group would meet on Apr 24 but I may be able to shift it a week).
I’m interested in both Ancient Battles and Long March (probably more interested in the former) before Origins.
April 11, 2015 at 8:01 pm #267276AnonymousInactiveI will be able to make it for both sessions.
April 11, 2015 at 8:31 pm #267277AnonymousInactiveGlad to hear it, you’re added
April 13, 2015 at 3:53 am #267284AnonymousInactiveIm game, its Mike
April 15, 2015 at 12:00 pm #267347AnonymousInactiveI really want to go into this with a full table, going into a BI understrength seems like a bad idea. I reached out to a friend who plays but who isn’t active on the boards much, and he is in, so put down, “that gnome” for the team on the 24th to bring some combat loving. As an extra bonus he’s a priest of Anshar and that “phantom wound” their benediction can give seems particularly useful for a BI under the massive damage rule!
Though that does raise a question – this BI was written before the massive damage was enacted. does it apply here or not? I assume so, but BI’s are so deadly to begin with I hate to think it has been made tougher after production.
So please put down Temido the ansharan gnome for the BI.
Thanks!
April 15, 2015 at 2:51 pm #267350AnonymousInactiveIf Long March, Dark Coda is played, Ryan Altstatt has said he’s interested but would not be able to start until 7pm CST on the Friday (Saturday is more open he said, however). Right now he’d go down as a tentative.
April 16, 2015 at 8:03 pm #267387AnonymousInactiveSo, are things still looking like the BI or switching to LMDC?
April 16, 2015 at 8:52 pm #267389AnonymousInactiveUnless we have a full table, I don’t think it is a good idea to run the BI. With that said, I did receive a PM from someone who is interested in joining. I will wait to get a final decision from him, probably another day or so.
April 16, 2015 at 9:42 pm #267390AnonymousInactiveI think 5 players should be sufficient (6 would definitely make it easier) but I haven’t seen this BI. I ran Jappa for 5 and it went pretty well even with the group having very limited aoe and only one character with any healing (ironically they cake-walked the “lethal” encounters and had some trouble with non-lethal ones).
April 16, 2015 at 11:27 pm #267394AnonymousInactiveHaving played the BI with a full table at Origins last year I will say this; make sure you have multiple ways to kill minions or the fights get a lot harder. Of course that’s true of most Arcanis fights so this should come as no surprise. But newbies need to be made aware of this. It’s something I tell every new person who comes on board.
April 17, 2015 at 2:33 am #267399AnonymousInactiveLast year’s Origins BI was pretty brutal (there were few character deaths but lots of wounds). However, HP3 is earlier so I would think would fall somewhere between arc 1 BIs and Tultipet.
