    Dear cousin.

I hope that this letter finds you well and that life has been treating you good.

I was hoping that you may help me in a problem that I have, one I believe you have also experienced. It concerns my wife, Sarangerel who is a cousin to your Belinay through the ex wife of the Tomal Khan

As you know things have been strained recently due to the actions of the spirit rider (I shall not mention his name) associate of the new Imperator. Sara was not acting like herself. Things were difficult.

Anyway, recently I had the opportunity to work with a mutual associate (Rasari, half fire-elemental Neirite fellow), who mentioned that you have had some success in determining what the underlying issue was with your Bel.

Anyway dear cousin, I was hoping that you may be able to help me, or at least assure me it is not something I have done that has caused my Sara to become distant and cold towards me.

If there is any information you can share on the situation I would be most grateful

    In service to the Goddess
    Your cousin – Marco

PS, I have asked a cousin of our, Ruggiero deliver the letter. beware he will try to empty your stocks of Savonan Red.

PPS. If you know of any young ladies looking for a husband, Ruggiero needs to settle down and keep the family alive. feel free to set him up.

    Marco,

It is with a heavy heart that I receive news of your troubled marriage. I am not surprised, all the husbands of the Golden Court are wrestling with this. Still my heart is heavy.

I made heroic effort with the help of friends and fled with Belinay across the world to Enpyben and then to Altheria. I told one other where I was going, who helped me by traveling via the Gates of Anshar. But “they” found us all the same. Now Belinay is back in the Golden Courts and does not even remember the years we were married. Most of the Maghir find it convent to look away when I walk by. As I begin courting Belinay anew, I have concluded that silence is my best option under these circumstances. You may have noticed that I have not written any of my “letters” or “meditations” in some time. Subjectively I can tell you it feels like I haven’t lifted my pen in a year and half. Maybe more. Nor have I promulgated my thoughts on the prophesies.

Even if I did know something, and I’m not saying that I do, I wouldn’t write it in a private letter. The risks are too great to Belinay and any potential benefits would accrue to too few. It’s entirely possible my choices have hurt her more than anything else she has ever experienced in her life. Almost, I choose not to write you back at all…

But you need to know this, your attempt to reach me privately underestimates your difficulties. Severely. You should assume that any enemies you have, named or alluded too, can and possibly have read what you have written. And not through any fault of Ruggiero.

I wish I had better news to give you.

I have led an interesting life. And traveled with a wide variety of people from all strata of society. In the stories I most often hear, “heroes” are depicted as the Milandesian’s ideal. Essentially virtuous white knights of impeccable morals, charging headlong to confront “evil.” My experience with vals and gnomes…ssressen, dark-kin and the elorii has left me with a different view. I have come to think more simply that “heroes” are the people who find ways to advance a cause when all others are stymied.

You write to me because, essentially, you are stymied. I’m stymied too.I don’t know of anything that will advance this cause. Avoid heroic action if you can while you work out your problems with your wife. I am so sorry I can’t help you.

    Dear cousin

As usually your words portray the wisdom that you are renowned for. I hear what you say and although it makes it heavier, I take them to heart.

Perhaps in time, things will resolve themselves and we can move forward. Until that day survival is the task ahead of us.

May the Goddess smile upon you

    Your cousin
