Been outta the world a spell, would like to get back in w/ the 5e game perhaps. Noticed a lot of the new modules sounded familiar – Taboo, Visions of Lives Past, etc. Are these 5e remakes of the old modules or are they new modules with similar titles?
What’s the recommended path for a player of the original 3.5 campaign picking up and starting the 5e game anew?

The first eight adventures are Introductory ones for people just starting out, so we did reskin those.
Once you get past those (which takes you to about 4th level) you’ll start with the Coming of the Destroyer story arc which should be brand new to you.

March 30, 2017 at 2:16 pm #274878AnonymousInactiveThanks to both of you. Looking forward to getting involved some again. Trying to make some last minute (5 months in advance? this con has gotten crazy) plans to go to GenCon 50. Looking forward to seeing you guys again.
Henry – care to spoil a little bit whether this new story arc will focus on a particular country/countries or races? Always nice to know when making a character whether you’re making an “outsider” or someone deeply enmeshed in the upcoming events.
March 30, 2017 at 2:27 pm #274879AnonymousInactiveWithout any spoilers. . . Everyone? The coming of thr Destroyer arc set up plots for the Elorii, Coryani, Nierites, Beltinians, Ss’ressen, and we still have lingering plots from Crusade! involving Milandir and the Hinterlands. James’ Anchor point from last year drew the League into it as well.
March 30, 2017 at 5:55 pm #274880AnonymousInactiveThanks Cody, the last time I played was during the 3.X campaign, so I missed the entire Legends arc (wanted to be involved, but life) and any events that would have been most impactful there. How’s Althares doing these days?

Naughty!
Ambassador Tukufu had a different take…
Altheres? Doing fine. I heard he was behind on Netflix and was binge watching Stranger Things this weekend.
There you have it. Take your pick.On a more serious note, the people of the Blessed Lands and the Coryani Empire were mostly center stage in the Coming of the Destroyer Arc. With the dwarves, elorii and the Nierites getting some “special” attention as well (be careful of that spotlight!). Milandir was relatively quiet. Mostly crickets for Altheria, Almeric, the League & the Hinterlands.
Given the person driving the action, the War of the Paragons will likely feature Coryan and the Blessed Lands heavily too. And maybe wherever Merric val Cessari is holed up?

I am indeed who you think I am. There are a bunch of us in the area now I believe (Mostly my fault

Great synopsis thanks. And now I know I’ve been away a long time when I can’t even remember the original spelling. Time to dive back in. Val’Cessari is a new name to me.
With the Blessed Lands featuring heavily, it may make sense for me to wait for the Kickstarter-promised sourcebook, as that sounds like a very interesting opportunity there.

IC: Ah yes. I have returned from The Cauldron and can declare with certainty that the God’s are indeed dead. But like me, some of them are effectively undead. They still don’t give a damn about us though.
Stay tuned to a pamphlet near you.
April 19, 2017 at 8:59 am #275048AnonymousInactiveIC: Do not believe the lies of heretics, dear friends! The Pantheon lives and even now fights on other worlds to assure the safety of their mortal Children. They fight for you and I and love us as any parent loves a child! I know this to be true for I heard it first-hand from the lips of a Valinor, the Love of Illiir herself! Blessed Be, all praise to the Pantheon!
– Excerpt from a sermon delivered by Heidi val’Tensen, itinerant knight and cleric of Hurrian, formally named Ser Adelheidis Sigrid val’Tensen of Moratavia. She asks that all questions regarding the rumors concerning her death and the form of her resurrection be held until after the sermon.

IC: As a duly anointed Priest of Beltine I can say with certainty that the Gods would never allow Oozejumper anywhere near the real Cauldron. I suspect the Judgment of Nier had a very warm place for you to reside before booting you back to the Mortal Realms. Consider it a warning to mend your heretical ways. As for the Gods I suspect they have better things to do than spend time with an avowed Mourner. It’s called faith, perhaps you should try it. Great and glorious deeds can be accomplished if you have faith. Perhaps the Gods in their infinite mercy would have seen fit for you to survive your encounter with Yarris’ watery embrace. But you turned your back on them and look where that got you.
