I’ve created a SurveyMonkey poll to gauge interest and willingness to attend ArcaniCon 2015 based upon the cities mentioned in the post.
Please, follow the link and take the survey to help those planning the event to make decisions.
Thanks!

Come on, guys, Winnipeg!!!

I said I was interested in and very willing to attend in Winnipeg. Of course, it’s <8 hours driving for me (so should be <10 hours travel).
I'm really not that stoked about Chicago either (think I put Neutral for interest) but it is 6.5 drive time for me (of course, that's ignoring traffic which can easily add 1-2 hours (or more) depending on location and time in Chicago).
August 22, 2014 at 9:48 pm #264633AnonymousInactiveChicago and its suburbs should be big enough to find somewhere that doesn’t involve a ton of traffic?

Depends on which suburb you choose. Choose north side and those coming from the south have it, and vice versa. Odds would favor putting it near the airport similar to the Romulus event to prevent an hour in traffic for anyone who flies, but that places it in far enough that everyone will have some traffic.
August 23, 2014 at 5:39 am #264637AnonymousInactiveFor Chicago, the traffic solution is helped (not completely, but a lot) by going further west.
If you look at a map of the Chicago area, you’ll find I-294 that runs roughly North-South, intersecting O’Hare. Traveling about 15 minutes West gets you to another major N-S tollway, I-355. If you’re looking for less traffic headaches, but reasonable access from O’Hare, take a look at the I-355 N-S corridor. Most places along I-355 are less than 45 minutes from O’Hare (barring rush-hour). Not a trivial airport shuttle ride, but I don’t think it’s outrageous either.
A destination along I-355 has the advantage to those driving that they can avoid the more congested I-294, but connect to I-355 via I-80 (from the South), I-88 (from the West), or I-90 (from the Northwest). Sorry, coming from Milwaukee or points further Northeast pretty much requires I-294.
YMMV
