    Hello everyone,

    It is with heartfelt disappointment that I must announce that I will not be able to attend ArcaniCon this weekend.

    As some may know, my mother has a terminal illness and while the doctors believed she still had more time, she is rapidly deteriorating and is not expected to survive much longer. I am taking leave from work to be with her and thus preventing me from attending.

    I truly wish it were otherwise, as I enjoy meeting and speaking with all of you, but I just can’t do it this year.

    I sincerely hope all of you understand and will accept my apologies for my absence.

    While I’m sad you won’t be there, I support your decision to be with your mother. Having lost mine recently, I cherish all the moments I was able to spend with her. I send my warmest thoughts and prayers to you and your family. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you in this time.

    Family first, Henry, we all understand! We’ll miss seeing you, to be sure, but fleeting time with a loved one is incredibly precious. I would wager we all know first had the regrets of (seemingly) not having spent enough time with loved ones. I say ‘seemingly’ because we all know, too, that there’s no such thing as ‘enough’. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Henry!!
