I find it odd that the rogue archetype of archeologist proved the history and investigation skills with no “if you already have this skill” option. Especially since investigation is a class skill. It seems like if you wanted to be good at those skills you could already have them and have applied expertise to them, but that then wastes one of the benefits of the archetype. Seems weird that absolutely no want to be archeologist will have those skills at 2nd level, since they are punished for doing so….
Any chance of a x2 or choose a skill of your choice errata to that feature? (Preferably the former since I thinks it makes the most sense, archeologist should have the option at being really good at history…)

keep in mind if you already have a skill and get a bonus skill from any source you can pick a different skill, it is not a “lost” ability, you still get a bonus skill proficiency.

I had not realized that. That fulfills the former of the two possible fixes I had suggested. Thank you for reminding me of that. It makes much more sense now. So if you want to be a good archeologist you can take knowledge history at the get go and use your expertise on it, then use this to get any other skill you want. Thanks!
