Now, the Ashen Hide/Terdiss Egg Clutch is not playable in the Living Campaign, but I have a few questions about them:
1. What Church are they a part of?
2. Do they gain any benefits to using the Pugilist or Canny Fighter fighting styles (like how other unarmed combat archetypes gain the Adaptive Training ability {I suppose this also applies to the Zealots of The Blackened Scale}).
3. Does the Improved Natural Armor racial feature apply to the Adepts of Destruction’s Path of The Living Weapon (i.e do they add +1 to their unarmored armor class)?

The schism occurred when a priestess found out the Black Talons were worshipping Kassegore in the guise of the Fire Dragon. It is specifically not stated whether they will be affected by the change to the Church of Milandiir admitting the Black Talon version of the Fire Dragon.

Per the Ssethregore Codex the question of who they worship is now clearly Nier, even though they still refer to Him as the Fire Dragon:Eventually, a compromise was reached. A [Cancerese] human priest of Nier would be assigned to lead the ss’ressen congregation in worship, teaching their priestesses only the most basic of cants, no more than would be taught to templars and holy champions. The ss’ressen took this news with equanimity, seeing it as a test of their faith and stoically accepted whatever limitations were placed upon them.
Over the decades, these edicts have not been as strictly enforced as they were in the beginning. The Ashen Hide have proven their loyalty and fervent adherence to the God of Flaming Destruction, butchering as many Black Talon warriors as humans during the endless conflicts between Canceri and Milandir. A Cancerese priest of Nier, currently Hurson val’Virdan, remains to instruct and guide the ss’ressen priestesses. The cants being taught and used by the Ashen Hide are Dark Triumvirate Nierite cants. They are not worshipping KassegoreApril 3, 2020 at 4:30 pm #277815AnonymousInactiveDoes that mean an Ashen Hide Ss’ressen could theoretically take the Trial of The Eternal Flame? Sounds fun. And like a religious and theological mess.

Could they take the test? Yes.
Can they pass it? No.
Would they even be allowed to attempt it by the Nierite clergy? Nope.
If you read the entry on the Ashen Hide, you’ll see why.

I imagine this has to do with A) The Nierites distrust of the egg clutch and B) Their amalgamated worship of Nier and the Fire Dragon?
April 3, 2020 at 6:03 pm #277818AnonymousInactiveTo pass the Test of the Flame (or whatever to call it), you have to have undying faith in Nier. The Ashen Hides don’t, they have faith in the Fire Dragon which they view as an aspect of Nier. These are not the same thing, and I’m pretty sure a God (or His blood, or whatever valinor he left behind to grade tests) would not allow for such a . . . split loyalty.
