Horses are going missing throughout Balantica. No more than a few a day, but enough that over time it has become noticeable. And then there’s the val’Dellenov noble who went out hunting and never returned. And the horse merchant of . And the former legionnaire, who’s body was found trampled into the ground. Something strange is going on. Something that has many people skittish. Can the Heroes figure out where the horses are going, and why all this is happening?
-The ‘villain’: A val’Dellenov girl with a deep love of horses was emotionally scarred after witnessing a horse take a beating. Not a noble val’Dellenov (rather, an orphaned by-blow), she had no recourse to take up arms against the horse’s abuser. However, she was naturally gifted with the ability to speak to animals, and convinced the horse to rise up in its own defense. She cut the tethers binding the horse, and the horse did the rest, after which they rode off into the sunset. Normally, that would have been it, but such was her passion that she cannot abide knowing that others suffer, so she roams Balantica, freeing horses that are being abused and amassing them into a herd, after letting them take their revenge if they so desire. Now, most horses are temperate creatures, and suffering more from neglect than anything else, so they were content just to leave for better grazing and companionship, but a rare few were spirited, and ensured that their former abusers suffered.
