    Hi all

The cost of a flintlock is 25 gc unless you are Altharen and then it is 25sc

But if a hero wanted to purchase a Fine or Exceptional Flintlock pistol would the discount still apply

    Would the cost be

25sc (good); 2.5gc (fine) and 12.5gc (exceptional) (x10 and x50 of discounted price)
    or
25sc (good); 250gc (fine) and 1250gc (exceptional) (only good discounted, fine and exceptional based off full price

I would assume the first option but I can seean argument for the discounted price only being for the base item and the other rare and better qualities being far more expensive.

I assume the first. I always took the greatly increased price for others to be due to the difficulty in finding them on the black market and the risk involved in carrying one if not sanctioned.

I would go with the first option (not least since Tukufu has bought a brace of fine pistols under the assumption that the first option is correct… \":P\" )

My take has always been that there is a controlled/finite supply that goes out for sale on the general market so the prices are inflated to sky high levels even if you can bear one legally. The Altherian flintlock basically passes for the Herme Handbag or fine Rollex watch in and among the rich and val-ish. And they think the prices are fine, because as a status symbol thing they don’t want just any nob to be able to afford one.

But I think its understood culturally that the Second Gift belongs to the chosen people of Altheris. So Altherian gunsmiths take care of Altherians citizens. So Altherians instead get to order flintlocks at (essentially) the price it costs to make them.

    Just my 2 cents
