Hello everyone,
As the launch of the Cradle of Empires Sourcebook comes closeer to launching (just waiting on a final OK from KickStarter), I’d like your input on what Add Ons to offer.
For example:
The Arcanis Core Set Combo Add On $50
For this KickStarter only, we’re having a special deal on the Core Books – Buy the Arcanis Core Rule Book and get the Codex of Heroes for FREE.
Please add $11 shipping in the US and $X for International orders.I have a few others but would love to hear what you want to see made available to you?
Keep in mind – these are ADD ONS, not Stretch Goals.

Since I already have copies of the core book and heroes that isn’t a useful option for me. Probably not a useful option for your core arcaniacs as a whole. But might be a good deal for someone new. I don’t know what the ratio will be of arcaniacs vs kick starter browsers.
I would rather see the Argyle cover piece for the core rulebook as a poster or on a shirt rather than books I already own. Its my opinion that the cover is the best single piece of artwork PCI has ever commissioned and would make a great reward/add on/bit of eye candy to attract browsers.
Just my 2 cents.

Basically a side deal. As an example:
Main kickstarter is for Book A. For the set pledge amount (ie $100), you will get Book A.
As an Add-on, the company might offer you Book B or Book C (products they already have in production) at a discount, to entice you to increase your pledge. So lets say you increase your pledge by $25, you will get another product.
To get back to Henry’s question, one that you see a lot for book kickstarters is an add-on to have your book signed/personalized by campaign staff.
For other add-ons it would be nice to see cert shirts, or buttons, or patches. Especially if they have some sort of an in-game effect.
I think it would be interesting to have an add-on where the PC can purchase a small plot of land and have a certed property.

1) Extra kickstarter books at a discount with a pledge that includes a book (For your gaming group)
2) Signed/Personalized copies with either your name engraved, signed by the staff, or with custom artwork of a character
3) Embossed/Leatherbound/Other Fancy hardbound additions (Get the book and pay $40 to have it in an embossed cover, e.g.)John

These would actually be pretty good add-ons.
You could also work out a deal with Pat for character art as an add-on.
Other things that highly successful RPG kickstarters have done:
-Maps of the world as currently known/more detailed maps of specific areas
-Special created dice sets
-Stuff mentioned previously, like personalized editions and ‘upgraded’ editions.October 14, 2013 at 9:40 pm #251402AnonymousInactiveAdd the old story arc books, after conversion but before art work.
Oh if that would be the case I would go broke quick!

I didn’t think that the approval process for Kickstarter was normally this long. Has there been any word from them?
October 16, 2013 at 5:48 pm #251428drafitParticipantHello,
It doesn’t. The KickStarter has been approved; however I’m holding the launch until we get the Witch Hunter book to the printer.
I think that it’s important to the credibility of the company that we fulfill (or imminently so) our base commitment before starting a new KickStarter.
There have been some high profile failures (and alleged fraud) occurring and I don’t want anyone to have even the slightest doubt that we meet our obligations.
Having said that, I hope that the book can be sent to print before the end of the month. As soon as that occurs, I’ll press the button and make this Kickstarter go live.
Thank you for your patience and continued support.
October 16, 2013 at 5:53 pm #251429AnonymousInactiveThough I am impatient, I think this is fair. Personally I think that an announcement should be made on the website updating this (with brief explaination), as it still says the Kickstarter is live in September.
October 16, 2013 at 7:17 pm #251431AnonymousInactiveThat seems very reasonable. I wonder, might we move up some of the con premiere LA adventures and/or quick starts for Witchhunter/RC?
October 18, 2013 at 1:54 am #251487drafitParticipantHello,
Due to a family emergency, the Arcanis: Cradle of Empires KickStarter has been delayed.
I’ll update everyone when it goes live.
Thank you,
Henry Lopez

Henry, as someone that is unfortunately involved in one such Kickstart, I would like to thank you and commend you for the position you’ve taken on this matter. I’m sure very few of us would have batted an eye had you started the new project, and very many of us would have thrown money at said project. Stand-up move, sir.October 21, 2013 at 12:32 pm #251564AnonymousInactiveI hope all is well with your and the other PCI families. Keep us posted.
