    Behold the unblinking eye
That stares down as like the sun.
    Like a shadow it stalks
    Unseen and unknown by all.
Haye’, haye’: The Destroyer is come!

Am I being paranoid? Or doe the dual reference of “eye” and “unseen” refer to a connection between the Destroyer and the val C?

There are a few other stanzas (link escapes me) that are more obvious references.

This one, is a tossup between us and the Sleeping Emperor.

Could it also refer to the Black moon?

On a tangent, I was going through possible Unicode to find an ‘unwinking eye’ symbol and the closest I got was:
    ¤

Alt+0164 (on keypad). I’ve added it instead of an apostrophe to the relevant character name. Quite subtle, as it often pops up as an error character in browsers and text editors.

    Astra you trouble maker.

A deception has to be complete. I would avoid any hints.

We know who we are. We remain unseen to others.

    Hi all

I have just been browsing the Blessed lands book and came across this that may be relevant to the prophecy

    Aii, The One God
“… and the holy symbol of the religion, an unblinking
    eye
, the Eye of the One God, looks out over all.”

How does this relate to the prophecy and is there any relationship to the family?

Yes. That jumped out at me too. And there is also the fact that Aii is pronounced “eye.” Someone may be enjoying a joke.

Is it possible the whole thing – the religion of the one God – is somehow a con put on by remnant of the family? On the surface it doesn’t seem possible since the Prophets of Aii really do have some strange magical powers. On the other hand there is no real proof their powers are divine (as opposed to a weird version of Arcane). So…maybe? And in Vexing Priests we see the Prophet there use a power that seems to be associated with “Telepathy/the Mind.”

Against that, it’s hard for me to see how or why our family would start such a deception. It draws a lot of attention and is centered far away from the First Imperium as I understand it.

It may be a case where they just happen to use an eye as their symbol.

Another ‘in joke’ could be a reference to the grand vizier Ay, who succeeded Tutankhamun to the throne of Egypt.
