New Combat Styles
These combat styles are available to all fighters:
Defensive Duelist. When using a one-handed weapon
while leaving your off hand completely free (not holding a
shield), you gain a +1 bonus to your AC.Defensive Duelist is already a Feat in the non-SRD PHB (and is also much better in my view than the Primer combat style).

1) its a non-srd feat… thus I (as a designer) can’t use it
2) this does not take up a feat, and should not be on the same level as a feat.
3) the design was/is in response to a common complaint that there are no fighting styles which reward a fighter using one weapon and no shield.

Maybe rename the Fighting Style to “Parry Guarde” or “Duelist’s Parry”.

may have to go to Parry Guarde

yes, but Defensive Duelist core feat will be going away with the publication of the core book.
