    SPOILERS for several parts of the Crusade Story Arc follow:

    Considering that the Devil-King Uhxbractit was a Fiend who was able to possess people, is it not feasible that instead of actually being destroyed at the climactic battle, instead he sent his demonic spirit into a mortal nearby? Could he have been inhabiting and controlling a body ever since then? Might he have put himself into the dying body of King Osric so he could get a free ride to lands south of the Fiendish Expanse (and new Wall)?

    At the BI he died and left his physical corpse behind. His Mace was carted off on the back of the King Pain’s horse/mule.

    Personally I like the idea that he would/couldpossess someone at the end to cheat death, but I feel pretty confident that didn’t happen.
