The is at least some fluff in our val’Cesari notes that there is are members of the family who are interested in pulling invisible strings to seize temporal power. I tied to think about what that would look like and decided that the most likely thing would be people using their powers to predict outcomes and then tweaking those outcomes with seemingly random or minor events.

I then also realized that from the outside such a group it would probably look a lot like the Feathermen. Has anyone else thought about a splinter of the val’Cessari trying to gather more temporal power? (I mean are we supposed to be them? Or are we supposed to be worried about them?)

Or about how or if the Feathermen intersect with us at all? (Or does someone want to confess to be the mastermind behind the Feather men \":P\" ).

    Just a thought I had …

This was the entire basis/motivation of my character. Amassing family power (money, favors, position, influence). Again, going by the write-up, there are Cessari who want to do this and thos who think re-joining society in any way (i.e. not living in caves) is too dangerous for the family as a whole. That is why I am so huge on family secrecy. Granted, only 2 other Cessari know who my character is (Joe C. and Sean Esterline’s)….so, if Tufuku (for example)gets found out, he cant expose us. But, finding even 1 Cessari could ignite a witchhunt.

But, more specifically to your point…the Feathermen do seem a good fit SS-wise for us for the reasons you mentioned. If there were a single mastermind behind the Feathermen (assuming that the crazy Val’Abebi guy isn’t just insane and suffering from multiple personalitites and is both hunter and mastermind behind the Feathermen) and that mastermind were a Cessari, they would need to have bloodline powers we don’t know about to see how all the weird orders and special missions intersect.
