I had forgotten about Advanced Armor Training as well and how powerful that is for a combat character. That’s *huge* with an Heirloom Armor for no bulk (The only downside to heavy armor). Now I could see a case for choosing EITHER Advanced Armor Training or Masterful Defense (Tier I).

Arcane: Choose any 3 Lore Skills (giving 6 total). That’s all.
Divine: Choose any 3 Social Skills (giving 6 total). Add: Gain Weapon Training in 1 weapon common to your starting nation.
Martial: Choose any 4 Combat or Physical Skills (giving 6 total). Add: Gain either Advanced Armor Training or Masterful Defense (Tier I) to support heavy and light fighters.John

i originally suggested weapon master for martial, spell affinity for arcane and (from John) a national weapon for divine

Spell affinity is good for Arcane, I’d rather see leadership or something or divine.

It doesn’t have to be perfectly even with Expert. I think expert getting 1 more skill than everyone else is pretty much in line with what it’s suppose to do.I think talents for Arcane and Divine would put it more in line with Expert and Martial though.

if expert weren’t better than everything else right now then i would agree with you, but they have way too much leway with what they can pick already and one skill point for the other ones isnt that big is it?
