Just to double-check, the Former Gladiator background should give proficiency in Manica, correct? If not, why not? It gives proficiency in every other Gladiator “weapon”.
I was just looking at Former Gladiator again and noticed some oddities in starting equipment. Should Former Gladiator also grant proficiency in Buckler and Maul? They are options for starting gear but don’t appear to be granted as proficiency (whereas all other weapons/armor given to start are granted proficiency).
