Hello everyone,
It’s my hope to launch the Kickstarter for the Grand Tome of Adversaries very soon. However, the one point I’m stuck on is the special reward pledge tiers.
I’m not keen on doing more special characters, so I’m open for anything you think would be an exciting option.
If you have an idea, please feel free to share.
Thank you!

I am interested though, so are you able to give us a preview of some of the pledge levels you have? Or do you know when the KS will be submitted?

April 14, 2015 at 7:46 pm #267331drafitParticipantHello,
One of the high level reward tiers I was considering was to offer a seat at a private online campaign that would last a about a year (10 to 11 sessions) once a month. This would be just like a home game with all new material (i.e. no previously released adventures will be used).
First – would this be of interest?
Second – I have a concern about getting only one or two people to sign up for this. I would need a minimum or 4 (6 max) to do this.
Third – Cost. Although you get a book and the PDF as well as all the electronic stretch goals, I can’t see doing this for less than $1000.00 a seat. I ran a session for Arcanis, which was only a session (5 hours or so) and charged $300 a seat. This would be 10 times as much game time, but I can’t charge 10 times $300.
Thoughts?

I am thinking that, while very cool, most of us cannot justify that cash outlay
I would scale it back – $100-300 is probably manageable by some, but $1000 is just too high, I think.Although the session you ran for us in Arcanis was PHENOMENAL and if I had $1000, I would justify it somehow

Just my 2 cents.

That’s my thought as well, but I just can’t justify running a campaign for a year for $300.
I think I’ll just nix that idea.

April 15, 2015 at 3:23 pm #267352AnonymousInactiveI think it sounds like a fun idea, but the logistics (of finding time for that many people over the next year) and price would probably keep it out of most pledge ranges.
You might consider a custom adventure/set of adventures that you write for that pledge level. Those that pledge can then run the adventure on their own. This could be something like $200-$300 dollar.

April 15, 2015 at 3:30 pm #267354AnonymousInactiveCould a group of people pool their money to pony up say $300 bucks for the special mod? That could be a good work around for those strapped for cash. 50 bucks is way easier to come up with for us po’ folk.
Although I’d be just as cool to have the money go toward mod production in general for everybody to play. I know my Stalker character would be happy with a high quality rifle or melee weapon, he’s not much into the books and such.April 15, 2015 at 3:37 pm #267355AnonymousInactiveCould a group of people pool their money to pony up say $300 bucks for the special mod? I could see that if there are 6 openings for that reward, you might get 6 different groups pulling their money or a mix of that and individuals who want the unique mod.April 15, 2015 at 5:42 pm #267363AnonymousInactiveYou might consider a custom adventure/set of adventures that you write for that pledge level. Eh. That doesn’t sound very cost effective to me. I think you’d get more buy in making by making this a stretch goal. Given the time it would take to write, playtest and edit that adventure, I don’t think there would be much profit left in it at that rate. Sure you could up the number of limited backers, but that sort of waters down the “special” aspect of it.
If you look at the original WH2 KS, they offered up a PCI rep to run a special event at Origins or GenCon for your group for $500 and didn’t get any takers. So I think this sort of thing needs to be measured against that.
Now, one way this MIGHT work would be this:
+$100: You can your group get a chance to playtest a forthcoming published adventure. The names of your group will be listed in the credits and you’ll receive a special advanced WHR cert for your character. Now, that might seem odd to pay for the privilege of playtesting, but the cert and the bragging rights might be worth it to some folks depending on the adventure. Plus, can you play the published adventures (Legion Cycle) as part of WHR? If not, this could be a pretty rare treat for some folks. Limit it to 10 backers and there you go. Plus, the adventure would eventually be published (in only in PDF), which is better for the bottom line.May 16, 2015 at 5:04 am #267895AnonymousInactiveI completely missed the post about that reward idea, Henry. I would be up for a reward like that, though I’d have to get some other WH players, as my local group has about 3 at the moment. And yay, finally backed the project (was waiting on payday, as my vacation was a little too much fun
