This type of game seems, least for me, harder to find players to join. Why? One reason is that there a lot of people that play RPGs that are atheist and/or self proclaimed pagan wiccans, warlocks and the like. \":!:\" Sad to say but true. They care little about morals and even less about a divine being…creator God. Guess they are just a product of a messed up and confused society.

We are living in a world not too unlike WHR…and you brave souls heard the call and answered it \";)\"

This picture says a lot! Sorry for ranting but sometime I feel it I am the only one that still cares…

I was able to find 4 players….two left after reading what the games theme was about \"\"

That’s why I’ve stressed in my game that the orders are apocryphal at best. While several have roots in religion, a couple are certainly open to more agnostic points of view:
    The Stalkers
    Lightbringers
    Rose and Cross

Of course, you have to square a lack of faith with the knowledge that there is a dark power. But that’s not really hard. Look at Buffy, Supernatural, even Salem. Each of those shows, especially Supernatural, seems to have no problem with a “god and heaven exist; so what?” attitude. I mean, what is the adversary but a devil with a superiority complex. The how’s and whys of providence are pretty vague in terms of the game. I can EASILY see a Stalker who lost his faith after his catalyst, with an opinion of, “god allows terrible things to happen because he’s a monster with better PR.” One of the scenarios I’m working on has a whole village that have turned away from Christianity and back to the “old faith”, because things are so bad what has god done for us?

So it’s very easy to downplay the religious aspect with individual characters.

I’m sorry that you’re having such a difficult time finding players.

    I’m sure they’re out there – don’t give up.
