    Poisons – pg 105 ARPG

    I don’t think Heroes should be using poisons, it doesn’t follow with the whole “hero” mindset usually.

    aside from that, let me make a mechanics based argument also
    the poisons that are available really good , to the point they would unbalance a table

    Heck I was thinking total fate loss for using a Poison… (to enforce the rule mechanically)

    Oh we could, you lose all fate…gone..poof for the remainder of the adventure

    With the wounds rule, you will see a lot more people want to hold on to their fate

    So it’s okay for people to own slaves, beat them, or summon demons but using poison is somehow not heroic?

    using poison isn’t heroic (in my opinion) HOWEVER, I think that ignoring any new mechanics, making poison excessively costly would be a good balance in game term mechanics.

    Thinking about this I think poisons should get a specific little treatment, say a 5-8 page PDF that details how to use poisons (things like Injected, and Exposure are not defined in the system) along with a few new poisons and maybe a talent or two or possibly even a path.

    So I dont have any problem with using poisons, nor really with the poisons that exist. However the rules for poisons and how to adjudicate them are kinda lacking.

    I’d like to see clarified rules on making and using poisons for PC use. While they may be ‘shady’, I don’t see them as non-heroic. Given the shades of gray Arcanis strives for, it fits in perfectly with the setting.

    As I stated in the other thread, it was decided not to have PC poison use in the Living Campaign.
