I was thinking about ways to include, for lack of a better term, ‘non-combat’ combat. Basically, this uses most of the mechanics from Combat, but moves them towards things like debates. I have included the basic notes that I have come up with. Thoughts?

Initiative: Roll initiative Dice equal to your Passive Charisma value.
Attack: Persuasion (Ch) Action Skill Roll
    Weapon: Wit = Logic(Ch) (d)
Damage: Stamina (just to keep it simple)
    AR: Passive Resolve
    Speed: 5
Criticals: Deals a “Wound” vs. Passive Charisma.

    Modifiers:
Metaphysical Understanding – Add Passive In to Damage and AR vs. Spirits and Shades.
Inspirational Presence – Add Passive Ch to damage vs. ‘heretics.’
Unshakable Dogma – Boost to your Discipline, as per the talent vs. heretics.
Alien Understanding – Add Passive In to Damage and AR vs. Infernals and Undead.
Exploit Weakness – As the talent, but for this.
Judge of Character – Gain bonus to Empathy from this talent to Persuasion Attack Roll.
Political Maneuvering – May ‘interrupt’ an opponent as a push attack.
Voice Like Honey – May add Passive Ch to all damage rolls.
Born Leader – Provide AR equal to your Ch to all Allies.
Hard to Read – Gain Passive In to your Discipline Defence
Intuitive Mind – Gain Passive Lo to Discipline Defence

You could add or subtract speed from the argument based on the races involved, flaws (jingoistic, prejudiced), etc.

    Thoughts?

I think it is worth playtesting out. My initial fear is that this skill roll process would replace the act of roleplaying out the encounter as opposed to enhancing the experience.

Cody, do you want to add it to one of your current projects? We can see how it plays out in the playtest stage.

Of the adventures I presently have, I can’t think of a good place to fit it in. I’m thinking of a mod idea which could work. I’ll continue to toss it around in my mind while I wait for some of the backlog to clear via releases/rejections \";)\"

I imagined this type of thing would be used more in situations like a criminal court or trying to sway a crowd. I always felt that a simple persuasion roll followed by some basic roleplay never really did it for me, which is why I was thinking of this.
