    What, if anything, do we know about this Legion? I’m working on a character concept for a former legionnaire and I want him to be from an Illiirite legion. This one seems to fit the bill. I do have access to many of the mods from the old campaign so references there would be useful as well as any other source material. Thanks!

    My only notes I have (without reference, alas!) is that it was originally a NIERITE Legion. However, because Nier was banned for some 700 years, it was (likely) co-opted by the Illiirites between 300 and 1025 IC. I may, however, be confusing it with the Legion of Searing Purity, but I have a separate entry in my notes for that one.

    Thanks. I’m working with the list in the new Arcanis RPG core book, trying to guess which ones would Illiirite based on name. If you have any information that would help in that regard I would appreciate it.

    Found the reference: Original Forged in Magic, pg. 89.

    To summarize, the Holy Symbol of Rage’s Fury was created by clerics of this legion prior to the Nierite Revolt. Knowledge of its construction is still known to the Nierites of Canceri.

    Cody to be clear I am looking for the names of Illiirite sponsored/loyal legions. I’m not set on just this one legion for my back story. But thanks for the info!

    My list of Illiirite Legions:

    Legion of Unyielding Courage (currently the people of Giant’s Keep)
    Legion of Burnished Steel (known for ‘trodding the dark paths where most other legions quail in despair)
    Legion of Indomitable Truth (founded by a val’Assante Priest of Illiir)
    Legion of Radiant Glory (broken in the independence of the Abessian Dominions)
    Legion of Vigilance (likely Illiirite do to them being the guard of the Emperor, Illiir being the patron of the emperor)
    Legio Lex Talionis (Current inquisition legion, likely dedicated to Illiir and Sarish)
    Legion of the Triumphant Rays of the Invincible Sun (likely Illiirite by name)

    Thanks! Based on your description the Legion of Burnished Steel would be the best fit. I was originally considering the Legion of the Watchful Hunter but wanted to make him different from his father who served in that Legion.

    Thanks! I have that book, lots of good stories in there surrounding the items. I love that sort of stuff and always work that in to my Arcanis (and other) characters. Way better that “+1 magic sword” (boring!) \":)\"

    If your PC is mid 40s or older, you could join Astra as an ex-legionnaire of the Legion of Heaven’s Blade. Based on the name, its Illiirite. Personally (since nothing was known about it in the old campaign) I had ‘backstoried’ it as shifting recruitment to Balantica and was more a Saluwean now.
    Even started an “armies of arcanis” outline until Henry pointed out it didn’t exist any more. \":(\"

    Recruitment has been a bit of a problem since it was ordered to accompany Calmemnon into the unknown.
