    Maybe it’s a regional thing, maybe it’s my lack of experience with other living campaigns, or maybe I just misinterpret the term “event”, but I just don’t get the idea of the adventure download. So all currently available adventures for the new version of Arcanis are within the Living Campaign, right? And the only way of getting access to theses adventures is to promise to run them at a convention, right? In particular, unless I’m lying upon filling in the download questionnaire, I’m supposed to tell you up front when and where I am going to run a particular adventure even though I haven’t read it yet?

    To clarify: I’m from Germany, where Arcanis clearly is a niche system. It’s not mainstream, and it’s in English. It’s extremely unlikely to meet interested players at a convention by accident. The best thing you can do is to talk your home or online group into trying a new and non-standard system (like Arcanis). But as far as I understood the concept, a home group is specifically not what you mean by an “event” on the Legends pages, barring me from download. There seems to be no material whatsoever for your traditional home group – do you want Arcanis to be played exclusively at conventions? Or what is the rationale behind this way of distributing your gaming material?

    The “events” are not exclusive to convention play. You are more than welcome to download the adventures and run them at home.

    The Adventure records included in the mods are out there to facilitate players playing in a larger loose network of players, so that you don’t have to sit down with the same people for every adventure, but it doesn’t mean you have to.

    The questionnaire breaks down a bit for home games, its not a demand for things, but more of a ballpark estimation of when you think you might run some games, use your best judgement when filling out that form to give the best answers you can, your not going to be chased after, with regards to what you put down on that form.

    TL:DR the message I’m trying to say is do what you need to to download the adventures and feel free to play them at home as you see fit.

    And please get all your friends to play!

    I have downloaded all the adventures released so far, stating that I’m doing a Home Game as there are NO conventions within probably 1000 km of me (though the Calgary Group is getting bigger. . .).

    Online play is also viable (the majority of my games have been online so far).

    The majority of my recent games have also been online (though trans-oceanic gaming can be an issue)

    Of course – I’m also an active online gamer. Online gaming simply increases my chances of finding people that are interested in the same non-mainstream systems as myself \";)\".

    But again, the questionnaire does not seem to be directed at all “normal” kinds of play, where things simply don’t work the way that you first set a date and time where you want to play an adventure that you didn’t even download yet. But if making up input is okay by the organisers, then that’s okay with me, too… \":lol:\"

    When you add a new event on the “My Events” tab, one of the fields to fill in is what type of event this is. the options are:

    Home Game
    Game Day
    Convention

    If you’re planning to run a home event, just select “Home Game”. Game Days are like home games, but they are at a location that is open to the public. (Like a game store/hobby shop.) And conventions are just big Game Days. (The line between a game day and a convention can be a little blurry. If you’re not sure, it’s probably a game day. But regardless, the difference between a Game Day and a Convention is purely academic at this point.) Both Game Days and Conventions are automatically marked as public events. Home Games default to not being public, but can be changed if you want to.
