Making sure I understand starting Languages

Ok, let’s take a human character from Almeric with a Logic of 5 and 1 rank in Linguistics. Here’s how I understand the clarified rules.

Step 1. Human, so ‘Native Nation’. We’ll say he’s from Morotavia so he gains Milandisian. But because it’s ‘Native Nation’ I’ll get 2 in step 2.

Step 2. Pick one or in this case 2 languages. There are only 2 for Almeric, so he gains Low Coryani as well. There are no other languages, so while he could have picked up more, he only gets the 1. Ok. Current languages: Milandisian, Low Coryani.

Step 3. Add languages equal to passive logic. So, I pick 3 more languages. I’ve already got all of my starting nation’s so we’ll add Myrantian, Ssethric and Altherian.

Step 4. I’ve got 1 rank in linguistics, so 1 extra language, call it Udor for a total of 6.

If the character was from the Hinterlands where there are 4 starting languages he’d end up with a total of 7 languages and if he’d started in the Coryani Empire that only has 1 official language he’d get 1 from step 1, 0 from step 2 and then the rest, so 5.
