    Dear Cousins.

It is with great and humble pleasure that I announce that I am to marry. Sarangerel, niece of the Tomal Khan.

Like all these things, it is unexpected as I had assumed that the nomadic life I lead would not lend itself to that. But it has and I am happy.

But my cousins, I have a conundrum. What should I tell her about the family. At the moment she still believes me to be a val’Sheem. I don’t want to lie to her but is it really my secret to tell?

So I come to you for advice and wisdom

Yours in service to the family

When we wed, I told Belinay that my parents were dead and that my “extended family situation” is very complicated. I left it at that. Belinay believed I was talking about the Val Holryns, but seemed content. Largely we were planning on creating and centering a joint life around Litera Scripta Manet and the Golden Court.

Congratulations and Felicitations to you. My first year with Bel was full of bliss. I hope you experience the same!

    Dear Marco

Firstly, congratulations to you and your new wife, Sarangerel. Treat her well and l think you will be very happy. This is great news.

Perhaps this will be a big change for you Marco. Combining adventuring with marriage will be difficult no doubt. Who knows where it will lead? Perhaps our family will grow.

As for the family, we all have a secret that we all must hide. Sometimes this is difficult. I’m young and have never been married, but I think this is a secret that we must keep, even from a spouse. The val’Sheem family is an esteemed family.

I will listen to the words of our other cousins, but my council is that you should say nothing of the family to your new wife. Give it time. It is a decision that each of us will likely have to make at some stage.

None of us really know where the future might lead. I hope yours is a happy future Marco.

    Your cousin,

    Gnaeus Ruggiero val’Cessari
