Missions – Are they Appropriate

So, completely out of character….

The last few missions I have received from the Orthodoxy do not seem to fit the Orthodoxy as I understand it. They seem to be very inappropriate for our secret society.

Several of the missions have been. Go and enforce Mother Church Policies and make sure there is no Heresy. WTF?

That is the Job of the Inquisition.

The Orthodoxy is NOT mother church or Milandiric Church. Its aims are to return to previous ways of worship that are pantheistic. Clearly the Mother Church as it stands is not that way, nor are any of the other lesser varieties.

The Orthodoxy works under the cover of the Mother Church, and at times within the Canceri Dark Triumvirate and the nascent Milandric Church, to fulfill the mandate of the gods when man first inherited their Imperium. Their primary goal is the spiritual salvation of humanity through the worship of the Pantheon as a whole.
The Orthodoxy views the current incarnation of religious institutions across the Known Lands as a mockery of the original, a sham meant to placate the masses and to fill the coffers of those who lust for secular power. With that in mind, the Society strives to forge a new Pantheonist Church to oversee the religious needs of mankind.

It feels like the person writing the missions does not know what the Orthodoxy is about. It is true that we have worked with the inquisition and still do to route out the truly heretical things like demon worship and elemental worship…. but variations with in the church, which we believe is a mockery of what it should be seems far fetched.

Nothing so far has really lead to a greater understanding of Pantheistic Worship.
