I’m building a Nerothan divine caster, and the fact that his favored skill is Knowledge (Religion) seems to mean I’m losing/leaking skill ranks. Both the Divine archetype and the Divine skill advancement options give K:R and deity’s skill, but if I’m reading this right, I’m not allowed to double up and get two points simultaneously.
In the grand scheme of things, this is a 6-skill-point loss over five tiers, but it might be more if there are other paths or effects that do the same.
Was this intentional? Is there an alternative? Am I just misreading things completely?
Thanks!

The lack of choice makes all the difference. A Sarishan couldn’t choose etiquette as his social skill from the Divine Archtype because he gets a choice, for example.
May 31, 2014 at 4:10 pm #262688AnonymousInactiveThanks folks. To be clear, does the lack of choice when picking the Arcanum+Deity+K:R advancement work the same way? I presume so.
Much obliged!

If you have a specific list of skills and one of them is “Melee: Balanced” and on the same list it has “Any Melee Skill” as well, you can choose any EXCEPT Melee: Balanced (as you have choices of others).
If you have specific list of skills and one of them is “Deity’s Skill” (or some other very set, but variable skill) and that particular skill is on the list, then you get that skill because while this is a variable skill, it is cemented as soon as you choose whatever path gets you to that point.
