I am noticing that there are very noticable lack of Paths for arcane casters, noteably, Psion and Warmind for Psions, Shaman for Primal, and Magi & elementalist for Elder/Eldritch
Discounting Wilder & Altherian Trigger mage, am I missing anything?

I have been messing with the idea of writing 32 page books for each archetype..
and yes casters need some help in the path department…
a 64 page Magic of Arcanis would not be a bad way to fix that either

March 18, 2014 at 8:46 pm #259766AnonymousInactiveArchetype is a Major choice for a character, and while it’s not a ‘class’ in the traditional sense, it acts very much like one. It defines your starting ‘focus’ and provides strict guidance for how your character can advance.
As long as the Books on Archetypes have ‘options’ that show crossing into other roles (caster, fighter, skill based), I see no problem with them being Archetype titled. A section in each book on “How can
cross over into this role?” would be nice! I would love to see more frequent smaller books offered as that keeps player interest.

Unfortunately it is precisely those errors that render the piece hard to adapt to. The writeup allows Experts to take Divine Casting without a background that offers it, and allows an Arcane Caster to cast Divine Spells.
The game is all about flexibility in character development. However, your choice of Archetype has a huge impact on the options available to you to realize your character concept. It makes perfect sense to base a ‘guide’ on those choices. Again within the “Expert” guide, I expect to see sections on “What if you want your Expert to be able to cast spells?” Or “What if you want your Expert to excel at some facet of combat?” It still allows the book to speak to the types of characters people want to play, but bases it in the fundamental choice of your character. No other character choice has such an impact on your ability to advance than archetype.

Thrown fighters

maybe even crossbows

with the Archtype books you can support more then one theam
Martial
Slow/Tank
Fast/Roguish
Caster/Arcane (all flavors)
Caster/Divine (several gods who favor war & Holy Champions)Divine
Classic Priest (all the gods)
War Priest (Martial)
Templar and Holy Champions
Scholar/Archaeologist/and so on…
you are thinking to narrow.. you need to think broad strokes
