I just downloaded the pregens version 1.1. I noticed it as well.
But the pregen has no new spells, just the basic spells from the PHB. Perhaps they intended to add a new spell from the yet to come Player’s Guide. Or it was a mistake. Either way it’s safe to ignore the asterisk and cross it out before giving it to a new player.
