Per instructions, I traveled to the site of the Emerald Society dig of the Vaults of Larissa’s Laments, awaiting word on what was desired there. I received no contact nor message, but I thought it was to pass along a few of the discoveries I was made aware or had taken part in. The structure seems to have been buried by a massive avalanche in the past, leaving it virtually untouched for some time, although gar and other creatures from beneath the surface, perhaps the Lavender Way, had burrowed and made there home in it. True to legends, the Tear of Larissa was discovered within the Vaults, and it was gifted to the Mother Church, from the rumors I’ve heard.

In addition to the Tear, several other artifacts were found within. The first area explored had shrines to each god, only fully accessible by a follower of the god, that contained treasures relating to the god in each shrine. I took part in the exploration of several shrines, though I can say the shrine to Sarish had items of possible interest, including several unique spells that had not been known to the Sorcerer-Priest I traveled with – most were delivered to the Emerald Society, though my companion choose a spell that allowed her to transfer the strain of casting upon another. Also recovered was a tome within that shrine detailing summoning of infernals. Deeper within the Vaults, we also came across a vault of heretical items, guarded by ghosts of the legion who passed their, standing in eternal vigil. Lastly, a grand library, to rival some of the greatest libraries known, exists within the Vault, holding ancient texts in several areas, protected from the ravages of time, though that may not be the greatest asset there.

Within the library, we came upon a val’Mordane priest, who served as guardian of the library. He seemed to be a caster of cants, but seemed confused with the idea of worshipping or calling upon cants from a single god instead of them all. He had been in the shrine for centuries, having been born on the day the Vaults were buried, and has a great amount of knowledge, having read the tomes within numerous times with his imprisonment. Also, tales of a crazed Elorii were heard, having been freed and able to escape the Vaults, leaving mysteriously. Lastly, it appears some Coryani adventurers were able to enter the Vaults a century ago, and were captured by four-armed rhino-like creatures, able to call upon psionic powers, whom we were able to rescue.

As you can see, both treasures and beings of interest were found within, but unfortunately we were unable to received clear orders to further our goals. Hopefully this information may spark your interest or provide additional items for research.
