Hello everyone,
I just sent an updated PDF of Sorcerous Pacts to backers.
I received a lot of feedback on the original book, which prompted me to go back and review the costs of the Pacts. The Rules Staff revised the costs of using the Pacts so that it would be more useful in actual play. In addition, new player material was added, such as new Talents, Paths, etc., including the Tal Kanath Path, for which I have received numerous requests to make available to the player base.
I hope you enjoy the new Sorcerous Pacts.
I am working on getting print copies to Origins. It’s going to be tight, but there’s a good chance this will happen. If you’d like a print copy, please send me an email (PCIHenry@gmail.com) as quantities will be very limited. If you will not be attending Origins (or Gen Con), I can have a copy shipped to you, but there will be additional shipping costs. If interested, please send me an email at the address above.

Yes I mentioned it in the original post.
May 26, 2016 at 7:27 pm #272778AnonymousInactiveGave it a quick look over before I had to go to work (having read the original version when it came out). Looks good. Thanks for the update and the work that went into it Henry!
May 26, 2016 at 8:58 pm #272779AnonymousInactiveAlso only gave it a quick read but came up with two quick questions
“To Burn the Soul” on page 38, the person can sacrifice a wound using the talent (so once per scene) to automatically succeed at a single action skill role. This is possible only for a Master Medicant of the Medicant of the Aspect path, which as far as I can tell could be qualified for at tier II. Does this mean that one can use this to auto-effect someone with a spell once per scene? That is an Arcanum skill role against their defense, isn’t it? Might make the final fight scenes a little boring at Tier IV when all they have to do is “Thrall” the big bad and auto-succeed, every scene (since there is nothing saying they can’t be healed the would they sacrificed).
Also, is the Selash available as an animal companion to Elorii, or does it require special campaign documentation? Would it be possible to take an exceptional version as an heirloom, like you can a horse?
May 27, 2016 at 3:15 am #272781AnonymousInactiveAm I blind or what? Where is the Tal Kanath path? I see the fighting style and references to it, but I’m not seeing the path itself.

ARPG, p285.

Ok. I’m just a dummy. When read that he had the Tal Kanath path I thought literal path no the fighting style. But it does make it actually playable now that they can have the style in function as well as name.May 27, 2016 at 1:59 pm #272787AnonymousInactiveI’m loving the new material that has come out with this update.
I redesigned some of Elorii pre-gens I made to incorporate new material, and I built a new pre-gen Marokene Arcane Caster that is using the Pacts offered in the book.
I’m super happy with this update.May 27, 2016 at 4:42 pm #272788AnonymousInactivePlease post rules questions to the appropriate forum and limit it to 1 topic per thread.

I’ll let Cody or Matt answer the Talent question.
As for the Selash, yes – you’ll need campaign documentation for that.

Thanks Henry, that answers the real question. I know what the talent says, so I don’t really have much of a question about it. I was just surprised such a talent was released, and thought I would draw campaign staff eyes to it, in case it was a mistake. If you guys don’t have an issue, than its all good.
May 27, 2016 at 7:13 pm #272791AnonymousInactiveNo issue. We discussed at length. Even in the case you described, the Talent is potent, but not a fight breaker. Getting Thrall off and keeping it on are 2 different things. And, as always, remember that is what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
May 27, 2016 at 8:48 pm #272792AnonymousInactiveAlso: If this talent exists, Foes can take it too.

As a player with no elorii character even in the works, that was part of my concern.
