    Given the lack of new options for Archetypes in the ss’ressen book, one of my players asked if the War Mage made sense for a ss’ressen (female, obviously), or if she was “stuck” with the Invoker (which, I admit, starts getting better around level 6+, but is seriously underwhelming until that point)? As she and I discussed, I see nothing in the RAW that prohibits it, and my own knowledge of ss’ressen arcane casters is pretty much limited to Chickie from BEAST \":)\"

    Well, for the most part, yes, they can. War Mage has no written requirements, it only states that it started in the Coryani Empire, and spread to other nations from there. Ss’ressen Arcane Casters (or Magitrix) are trained in the St. Armon School of Sorcery in Milandir. With the recent trials to make the Ss’ressen learn human combat tactics, I would say that a War Mage would be appropriate.

    Agreed. Warmage is legal. And appropriate.
