I think you’d get leather armor. Coryan doesn’t have a regional variant, so you use the “base” armor. That said if you really want studded leather you have the option to take the starting cash instead and buy your gear.
Maybe I’m lazy or a softy, but when i judge/GM I never audit 1st level PCs down to investigating how they started off in studded leather armor. Just don’t tell me you PC has started out in Plate and can cast a fireball.
I assume most PCs buy better armor anyway after their first or second adventure. If they survive…
