This doesn’t NEED a fix mechanically. I think it’s weird too. Who knows, maybe one day there will be an option to divine can’t for Sarish. Or another route other than dual faiths.

I do think it needs a fix for story purposes. I doubt the intent was that you can only take this through dual faiths.

I think that one is politics. When Nier was banned in the early Coryani Empire, I’m guessing the Illiirites and the Sarishans took over his position in the Inquisition. Now that Nier is back, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some pressure to reinstate them as the Inquisition’s strong-arm, but I also doubt that the Illiirites and Sarishans are willing to give up their long-held power (especially with an Illiirite Matriarch in power)

The issue many (including I) have is that if you state that Sarishans are allowed to take this path, and then you do not allow a mechanical way for a Sarishan to get this path, then you should remove the reference to Sarish altogether. Either allow ASC:SPS, or delete that Sarishans can take this path.

There are no such things as Sarishan Divine Spells, only Arcane spells of the Sorcerer-Priest of Sarish source, which is the crux of the problem.

tell me how a divine caster of Illir does not meet those requirements?

This problem could be solved if they add a note that ASC: Sorcerer-Priest of Sarish also counts as DSC as well. I believe that’s the intent as it is the special case.
