Now that the Kickstarter is done, I’m curious how many selected the add-on allowing for a Tultipetan character. Basically this is a thread to see how many of us there are and what sorts of characters we intend to play. You know “tell me about your character.” \";)\" I think it might make for an interesting discussion and who knows it might give mod authors or PCI some ideas. I’m at work now but when I get home I’ll post the notes I have for the character I intend to play, Arun.

I selected it and, of course, plan on becoming an Adorned Seer and Fatespinner \";)\" Should be fun!

Me, too. Although I expect it’ll be a while before I play her. The plan is to go Divine Adorned Seer + Fatespinner.

I picked up one as a just in case as well. You bring up an interesting question, though, or whether male Tultipetans can be Fatespinners. My guess would be yes, but the gender requirement would have to be clarified in the Errata for them. Then again, regional weapons need to be specified for them (as well as the val’Vasik), so I figure we’ll see more specifics when the PDFs are sent out.

Fatespinners are required to be female. Henry was very specific on that point when I asked about it. He indicated or at least alluded to another Larrisan holy champion order and referenced the picture in the A:RPG on p. 182.

With a sweep of his hat,

I’m aware. The requirement of female is in the Errata, but Tultipetans, who are almost exclusively oracular, were not a player option, thus the question needs to be revisited.

Fatespinner is a Holy Order, and not a Tultipetan one. As such, ALL Fatespinners are Female, be they from Tultipet, Coryan, the Pirate Isles, or even the Elorii if they choose to join. It is a requirement of the Order, and has been for the 10 or so years since it was first published.

That’s too bad I was thinking of going that route. However if Henry nixes it we can still go Adorned Seer since I don’t see Farseer in the prereqs.

My roommate Beth does not post on the boards (at least not yet \":)\" so I’ll post for her. Her plans are to play a Holy Champion of Cadic working towards Twilight Warrior. She’s always liked that deity, something about the combination of music and murder appeals to her. I suppose I should worry about that… \":)\" Oh and for the record we will play a married dwarf couple.

    As promised, character backstory… \";)\"

    Arun’s Tale
When the Enclave was attacked and destroyed by the Dragon, Arun was in Plexus attending his wife’s initiation into the clerisy of Cadic. As Tultipet was so heavily focused on the worship of Larissa it was determined that the best training Ankristna could receive would be at the Temple of Cadic in Plexus. So once Arun completed his training and took his vows as an Initiate, the newly married couple travelled to the city in the south of the Coryani Empire. Although the final days of the Coryani Civil War engulfed the Empire, no one bothered the pair of dwarves on their journey. They posed neither a military threat nor had obvious wealth worth robbing. So despite the rigors of travel over such distance, they reached their destination unmolested.
The night before the attack both Dwarves were troubled by evil dreams of fire and death. They knew not what they meant, but they sensed trouble was ahead. As soon as her initiation was complete and her vows as a cleric of Cadic complete, the couple hastened home. They hoped they could consult with the seers there and learn the meaning of their dream. As they got closer to home they encountered travelers who told them what had happened Tultipet. While they wanted to deny the truth, they sensed the worst had indeed happened. All they knew, all their friends and relatives, the homes they grew up in and the home they hoped to share into old age, were gone. Seeing the still smoking crater filled with ash and cooling magma confirmed their fears. For all they knew they were the last of their kind.
Upon seeing the Enclave’s destruction, the couple debated it’s meaning for days. Had they proved unworthy of the Goddess that she would visit upon them such a hideous fate? Who could have released the beast from its bonds and why? What should we do with the rest of our lives? These would seem to be short because it would appear that the Heartstone was destroyed with the rest of the Enclave.
They concluded that their respective Gods must have a Plan in mind for them. Why else spare them this fate? To believe otherwise would be to give into despair and hatred for those that released the Dragon. Going down that path would have them become worse than Reavers. No doubt the beings that released the Dragon deserved the worst punishments possible. But their fate would be determined by the Judgment of Nier.
When the crater had fully cooled they found they could descend into its depths and miraculously still bathe in the Heartstone’s glow as it welled up from beneath the earth. Apparently even a True Dragon could not destroy what Illiir had created. This confirmed in their mind that the Gods had a Plan for them. But what?

Arun’s Heirloom Weapon–Madchenstich–Maiden’s Sting (Side Sword)
Madchenstich was my mother’s weapon. She was a priestess of Larissa. While protecting a group of Milandisian pilgrims en route to the First City she fought off a group of bandits. One of the pilgrims commented that for a maiden (madchen) she had quite a “sting.” Thus the sword was named. After she married and began raising a family she retired from the priesthood. She gifted the sword to me when I took my vows. With the destruction of the Enclave it’s the only part of her I have left.

    Achariya’s Tale

Achariya always knew she was meant for something special. She seemed to always know what she wanted since the day she was born and Larissa seemed to smile on her efforts, no matter what they were. When she showed divine talents, a virtual prodigy, she was quickly invited to become an initiate of Larissa and rapidly progressed to an ordained priestess, espousing her beliefs and teachings almost daily in her efforts to assist those in need.

Things had a way of working out for Achariya; this was a foundational tenant of her beliefs and formed the base of her sense of self very early on. After the Dragon’s attack, the fact that she had, just by happenstance, been chosen to deliver a message to another Dwarven Enclave and therefore survived the Dragon’s devastation again reinforced her belief in the divine providence of fate. It was during this time away that she was beset by foul infernals along her travels, surprised by them despite her penchant for having sharp eyes and being wary. Aided by a wandering traveler, Fandral val’Holryn, she then learned that he was a master fencer and, cementing a fast friendship, took up training in the Red Sword Fencing School under his tutelage, slowly increasing her skill with her side sword.

As for her personality, she was always a happy-go-lucky Tultipetan dwarf, rare enough before the Dragon’s attack and virtually unheard of now. Yet, even the devastation and loss of her homeland and virtually all she had known has not dampened her spirits. Achariya placed tattoos depicting fate, sorrow, and redemption over her body in remembrance and this has strengthened her faith in her deity; all would be well!
