Page 313 of A:RPG has the following quote:
“Reminder: Free Strikes are a combat maneuver and thus cannot be performed while under the effects of Recovery.”
My question is “Can a Free Strike be executed while under the push of another Free Strike”?
February 23, 2014 at 3:19 pm #257334AnonymousInactiveYou can never voluntarily suffer push while already under push from any source.
You can perform Free Strikes while under recovery, however. This has been clarified several times in the past.

Almost. I think there are 1 or 2 explicit exceptions that let you perform a particular action while under push.February 23, 2014 at 3:31 pm #257337AnonymousInactiveOf course. As always, specific rules override general rules.

John,
Where has this been clarified?
I ask because the rule book clearly states at least twice that Free Strikes are combat maneuvers and therefore can not be performed under recovery. See page 313 ARPG. There is nothing in the Errata or Campaign document that reverses the what is stated on page 313. Nor is there a change to page 313 in Codex of Heroes.Perhaps your confusing a question on the old forums for an official change?
February 23, 2014 at 8:17 pm #257367AnonymousInactivePage 256 says that Recovery time represents a period of delay before the hero may perform another maneuver with a Recovery time. Since a free strike doesn’t have a recovery time, it could be performed by that passage. I’m fairly positive Pedro clarified that was the right interpretation of Recovery Time, in that you can do other maneuvers that don’t have Recovery.
I obviously can’t prove it with the demise of the old forums.
February 23, 2014 at 8:20 pm #257371AnonymousInactiveI think it was clarified on the old forums (and possibly in the errata but I don’t remember). However, my memory is that it was Pedro that made the clarification and he stated it as official (so, if it’s not in the errata, it should be).
I also remember that clarification by Pedro about recovery.
February 23, 2014 at 8:24 pm #257372AnonymousInactive[EDIT] The latest errata clarifies that page 256 is the proper definition in that you cannot perform a maneuver with recovery, but can do a maneuver without recovery. I knew it was somewhere.

That’s a formidable clarification.
Thanks, I know I’d missed that. - AuthorPosts
