This is probably a question only Henry can answer, but has there ever been a list made of the various vassal families that work with the various Val bloodlines? We’ve seen a few mentioned in some of the mods but to my knowledge we’ve never seen a full list. It might be interesting to have for anyone who wanted to make a human character with a tie to a particular Val family. For instance a human squired to a Val knight could be from such a family, or a legate/tribune who owed his/her appointment to say the val’Assante. Just some food for thought.

Obviously, one would not be in a ‘head of the household’ patriarch or matriarchal role…but the same can be said for val heroes as well. Plus, I think it also encourages players to create Human characters in a ‘val-centric’ campaign.

August 21, 2014 at 2:10 pm #264607AnonymousInactiveBoth of my characters are part of vassal families.
My primary is from the Otrecto family of the val’Dellenovs, and my Daughter of Calcestus is part of the Gracchi’s.
I like tying characters into this sort of world detail, it adds a lot.

August 26, 2014 at 3:52 pm #264663AnonymousInactiveIt’s not specifically called out but in the Players Guide to Arcanis, there are “Selected Noble Family Lines:” in some of the sections relating to names, its not exactly what you want but it will get you closer.
I absolutely love having the 3rd ed books as reference books, they have all sorts of gems in them!
August 26, 2014 at 4:45 pm #264664AnonymousInactiveI also highly recommend people pick them up wherever they can (legally, and preferably from a source which gives PCI the money directly rather than a used store if possible, of course
).August 26, 2014 at 6:33 pm #264668AnonymousInactiveHeh…most of my books were bought at PCIs booth at Origins and GenCon over the years. It doesn’t get more direct that that…

And they do have interesting info…just rereading the history section of the Canceri book the other night. Good stuff there.
