So, the 5e Core Book is now out (or shortly will, depending on DriveThruRPG). With that being said, what is the first character you plan to build?
I am tempted to make a val’Mordane Holy Champion of Neroth, but my wife has informed me I seem to gravitate towards vals and should branch out. I could go Kelekene Barbarian/Fury, but I am somewhat torn there.

Magus?). Too much fun.February 24, 2018 at 9:16 pm #276067AnonymousInactiveThe more I look at it, the more tempting that Elder Sorcerer-Conjourer is looking. But so is that Human War Mage and a Ss’ressen Shaman of Jeggal Sag.

Im also partial to Gnomes and Dark-kin, but not decided on that yet either!.
Either way Ive been jotting down ideas.

- Fighter (Tactician) multiclassed with Rogue (Bard) to represent a Coryani patrician imperialis going through the steps of the cursus honorum[/*:m]
- Psion with primary discipline of psychometabolism (and secondary discipline of telepathy) and warhammer as a val’Abebi in the monastic Order of Althares[/*:m]
- Rogue turned Shaman (Ehtzara) to represent . . . something odd — and since I’ve long wanted to play an Ehtzara[/*:m]
February 26, 2018 at 2:24 pm #276080AnonymousInactiveI’ve been considering two things that might be neat with a reborn background.
1. A human, possibly Skohir bard-Barbarian skald who has a piece of a kio soul so he speaks all the languages from the hinterlands in one accent, and all the languages from the western lands in another – including speaking kion like a kio.
2. A gnome sorcerer with a piece of soul from a celestial giant who died pre-curse
February 27, 2018 at 11:25 pm #276089AnonymousInactiveIn the playtest I was running Oozejumper as a shaman spirit etzara.. I really liked the mechanics of the shaman. But one thing that I really like about the new 5e book is the flavor given to each of the classes. The flavor text carries over to the mechanics of the class. It gives a real grounding for how a given PC fits into Arcanis.
Based on that, I’m now very strongly leaning to running Oozejumper as a Fury with a Spirit of Hate. Not nearly the spell casting of a shaman, but enough for continuity of concept. But as the object of Hate is the Mother Church, there is a slight risk of suicide by inquisitor.

Only slight? Muhahaha.

March 1, 2018 at 3:40 am #276096AnonymousInactivetrying to figure out what cheestastic and fun thing to do with my Ss’ressen.
Myrmidon looks like fun, but then HC looks good as well. I need to figure out a way to stay a caster so I keep being the Snakelord, but other than that kinda open…

Oh wait, you guys have not seen that Archetype yet
March 3, 2018 at 2:03 am #276116AnonymousInactiveSo I was thinking about the Fury and a spellrune of vampiric touch. Granted if i have vampiric touch under concentration i cant keep it in rage becaus it has to come from a spell rune, not from a class feature. But even without rage fury is a great class. Im even thinking about a dex based fury using dex with a steal whip.

If I was playing a Ss’ressen I would definitely play Holy Champion of the Fire Dragon. They are fantastic.

I can’t wait to see a Val’Sheem Holy Champion of Sarish who is Succubus Bound…
