Since many of these characters tended to show up AFTER the Crusade (the undead characters, the val’Vasiks, and the Brood specifically) as part of the First City Arc, I think it is a fair assumption to use the 1.5 cert rules.
July 9, 2014 at 12:02 am #263848AnonymousInactiveWondering if we can expect an update on the Kickstarter soon? I noticed that you tend to drop them in the first week or so of the month, obviously it isn’t possible to always do so. Just curious if there was an intended date yet.
July 9, 2014 at 12:38 am #263849drafitParticipantHello,
I’m working on it and have Sorcerous Pacts pretty close to going to layout, but not yet.
As far as the book is concerned, please remember that it’s not scheduled for release until September. Barring any hiccups with the artists, we should meet that date.
As soon as I have something concrete to announce, I’ll do so post haste.
July 9, 2014 at 1:02 am #263850AnonymousInactiveThanks for the update Henry. Your post covered what I was after, a sort of state of the Kickstarter. Seeing progress help hold me over until items are finished and released.
October 12, 2014 at 9:19 pm #265021AnonymousInactiveI’m not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but –
I received a Val’Vasik character from the Kickstarter, but there are no instructions on the starting region. I would assume Bastion, but Unsealed Lands is listed in the Campaign Guide as a starting region you can’t choose.
Beyond that, it looks great and I look forward to creating the character. It has taken me a while to get around to this.
October 13, 2014 at 2:47 am #265023AnonymousInactiveThe campaign guide only matters if you do not have specific campaign permission which supercedes it. I made my character as a “Unsealed Lands: Bastion”, though you could probably rationalize Milandir (I wouldn’t if I were you).
October 13, 2014 at 3:58 am #265024AnonymousInactiveI completely agree with Cody.
Your val’Vasik would have been born and raised in Bastion. Which means you may now take it as a starting nation for the val’Vasik character only. The cert does mention Milander becoming an adoptive nation to the val’Vasik and the Blessed lands Arc starts approximately 1 year later, so I too would say you could pick Milander as an alternative starting nation. But Unsealed lands: Bastion is a much better choice IMO.
October 13, 2014 at 8:07 am #265025AnonymousInactiveThanks for your replies guys. Of course I agree. Still it is better to hear it from the source.
I think that the logical option is to have the character starting region as Unsealed Lands:Bastion, but if it is not defined then someone is just as likely to choose something different (and clearly wrong) and try to justify it in their background.
In my view, I think that it is reasonable to allow Milandir for the background as an alternative, but I would definitely choose Unsealed Lands:Bastion.
I try to hesitate before ignoring some aspect of the Campaign Guide. I am patient. The val’Vasik can wait.
October 29, 2014 at 9:42 pm #265120AnonymousInactiveAs it has been a month since Sorcerous Pacts was released and your new Kickstarter has just begun, would it be possible to get an update on the outstanding items for this Kickstarter? Aside from the Blessed Lands book there are the maps, land grant certs, Kio book, Ssethregore book, and likely a few other things I’ve forgotten.
Will backers get access to the Blessed Lands pdf before it goes to print? We might be able to reduce the amount of eratta needed if players can review the document for a few weeks before it is sent to the printer.
Thanks in advance,
October 29, 2014 at 10:01 pm #265122drafitParticipantHello Akira,
Yes, backers will get the PDF before it is released.
At the moment, my focus is on getting the main book completed. All other Stretch Goal items will be completed after the Blessed Lands book is done.
To be clear ( and in the hopes of dispelling any misconceptions) I will be doing very little writing for the Cthulhu: Strange Aeons project. All the developing I wrote for that book was completed years ago. My focus is solely on the Blessed Lands.
October 30, 2014 at 1:04 am #265128AnonymousInactiveThank you for the prompt response Henry. I understand that you don’t want to commit to any firm deadlines in the event of further delays, but are you able to give us a rough estimate for the pdf release? Is it weeks away, or months? Should we expect to see it before the end of the year?
Thanks again
October 30, 2014 at 2:07 am #265132drafitParticipantHello,
I understand that you don’t want to commit to any firm deadlines in the event of further delays, but are you able to give us a rough estimate for the pdf release?
Sorry – I don’t do that anymore. I’ve finally learned my lesson.
October 30, 2014 at 4:47 am #265136AnonymousInactiveBased on experience, I’m confident that Henry and Team Paradigm will deliver wonderful products in the form of the Blessed Lands book and the other results of the Kickstarter. Even though I’ve been looking forward to it for a while, I don’t mind waiting a little longer to get the sort of quality book they know how to produce. There are plenty of other old-timers here on the forum who know what I mean, but I want to encourage newcomers that your patience will pay off. Henry and most other contributors have day jobs and lives outside of making RPGs, and I appreciate how much time they all put into crafting wonderful stories and sharing them with us.
October 30, 2014 at 4:49 am #265137AnonymousInactiveUnderstand that you don’t want to give us a deadline
But in the spirit of Halloween can we Trick or Treat for a teaser
October 31, 2014 at 12:57 am #265144drafitParticipantHello Dean,
But in the spirit of Halloween can we Trick or Treat for a teaser

How can I turn away a supplicant at my door asking for a treat.
I’ve just posted an update in the Kickstarter that I hope you find a treat rather than a trick.
Let me know what you think.
