Why was it changed from this? This seems balanced to me (assuming an Expert version was forthcoming along the way?)

What’s the rationale on no Expert version involving Talents?

John
because they can already duplicate the flexibility of this talent without the help…
March 13, 2014 at 9:10 pm #258958AnonymousInactiveI meant, a version of the Talent that allows the Expert Archetype to get some Talent Flexibility (Replacing their 2 Skill Talent Advancement with 1 Skill Talent + 1 Skill or [Martial or Devout or Arcanum] Talent)?

Oh, hell no…
March 13, 2014 at 9:33 pm #258965AnonymousInactiveOkay. I’m a little confused, why is it okay for other Archetypes to tread on the big advantage of Experts to gain more flexibility (Getting to raise any skills as an advancement) but not okay for Experts to gain a bit more focus into one of the other 3 Archetypes?
Just curious what the thought was there?

So I’ve been pondering it more, and I feel instead of making it easier to combat cast, we should be making being a Martial only more appealing, being Arcane only more appealing, and being Divine only more appealing. I don’t know how you would do it, but there it is.
About your changes to Continued Training, I’d be okay with them as is if it was a Tier III talent. That way you still have to fall behind a little and the talent has no downsides.
@Pedro,
You have to see John’s point that if you ever do something where the other Archetypes get increased skill choices during advancement, you have to give something to Expert. Problem is these talents make all the archetypes kinda feel the same in the end because a lot more people would combat cast.
March 14, 2014 at 3:10 am #258988AnonymousInactiveI think it’s okay if the archetypes blur a bit in advancement. There are still enough differences in Talent choices where they will certainly shine in their roles:
Martial characters will still have a ton more Combat talents, Martial techniques, and weapon choices.
Arcane/Divine characters will still have more spells, more spell adaptations, and spell flexibility.
Experts will still have more Skill talents, broadly distributed skills.John
